Robin sipped coffee from his red Robin mug as he glanced about the den, which was cleaned for once, and then to the paper that was folded on his table in such a way to expose the crossword. The teenager had recieved a message from the Big Leaguers about their organization. Can't Batman tell them that the Titans are mine to run? The boy wonder thought bitterly as he tapped his gloved hands on the table in agitation. blue eyes glanced up to the door. Nothing yet, then down to the table - the newspaper hasn't moved yet. Neither has the pencil. They're late, and this is important! The dark haired teen crouched over his mug.
Starfire arrived first, arriving with an armful of snacks - some of them Tamaranean, and some of them earth food, to share amongst her friends. Green eyes barely peeked over the large pile in her arms, and though it wasn't heavy, it was a relief when she finally set it down on the table."Friend Robin, what did you want to talk to us about?" she asked.
He glanced up, smiling a bit as she came in. "Well - evidently the league decided they have a few... junior partners that need to join in with us, one of them is coming here. And I'd like everyone to be here for evaluation." And hopefully find a tiny flaw to give him an excuse to tell the league more or less where to stick their nose at.
"Then it's good that I brought plenty of the food of snacking!" said Starfire cheerfully. "Do you think this new junior partner would like to be my friend?"
He took another sip. "Very likely, but I'm not even sure if they'll be even qualified Starfire." Robin tried to explain as he raised his hand. "We do have so many associates and Titans we don't really need more."
"But if they are a super hero, then we should become friends with this person," said Starfire. "Allies are always a welcome thing, and if this person came recommended by the league, they must be capable."
"True..." That stubborn part of him just wanted to reject this person immediately, to show the league their place, but knew it wasn't fair at all. "Allies are good, you're right - and the league hasn't had too many off moments."
"When do you think this person will arrive?" asked Starfire. "Soon?"
He checked his watch. "He's already running late."
"Maybe he is trying to figure out how to get across the water to get to the Tower?" Starfire suggested, trying to give the newcomer the benefit of the doubt.
A figure suddenly skidded down the hall, and nearly crashed into the table. "Gangway!" The teenager suddenly hovered up. He's... certainly something - with an athletic build clad in blue and red spandex, a black biker-style, jacket, a pair of mirrored sunglasses perched on top of his black, unruly hair. However, the two things that really stand out was one: the familiar S-shield on his chest, and two: the faintly cocky grin on his lips."Sorry 'bout the delay, had to tow a ship back."
Starfire gave a little start from his sudden arrival, but she was glad to see that their new arrival had made it. "Hello! I am Starfire," she said, introducing herself. "Welcome to our Tower! Would you like to be my friend?" All of this was spoken fairly quickly, and she hovered so that she was at eye level with Superboy.
This... was Superboy? the protege to the big man himself? He has got to be kidding! Robin thought as he processed the information. "Well, as soon as the rest of the Titans arrive, I can get start here."
"All right, say, can I have a cup of coffee? It's been kind of a long week." The teenager immediately sat himself down at the table, briefly eyeing Starfire. Then Superboy realized that's not a good thing, and sat up straight.
Starfire disappeared from the room, heading towards thd kitchen. Upon her return, she had not only a cup of coffee, but also a pink and green colored exotic dish that made "squish" noises when jostled."Coffee and some homemade swarg for you to try!" she said, beaming with pride. On Tamaran, her cooking was considered fairly impressive, even if most of her friends on earth didn't appreciate Tamaranean cuisine.
Now this, he had to see, Robin leaned over as he watched Starfire set the food down. Now does the Boy of steel have a cast-iron stomach? The Boy Wonder mused. "Since you're up, could you get me another cup for me, Starfire?" Robin requested politely as he push his now empty mug in front of him.
The boy tentatively porked at thw swarg, and then swallowed a piece, chewing hestiantly. It had a funny texture... kind of... fuzzy."Uhm, wow."
Raven exited her room, she knew that someone was supposed to come to the tower, but she didn't know when. The darkling had been meditating quietly in her room. "Who's here?" She asked, entering the room with Robin, Starfire, and Superboy. She knew the other two, but Superboy, was definitly new. "I am Raven." She said, introducing herself.
"Superboy, here." Kon smiled as he actually realized he had was hovering, and lowered himself to the ground. "Uhm, yeah - there's this note Supes gave me." The dark-haired teenager rummaged through the inside jacket pocket, and thrust it out for her to read.
